修訂后記··················································································································346據(jù)大量考古資料和歷史記載證明,西亞的兩河流域和北非的尼羅河流域是人類首先擺脫蒙昧狀態(tài)、進(jìn)入文明社會的地區(qū)。大約從公元前4800年左右起,蘇美爾人便已住在亞洲西南部的幼發(fā)拉底河和底格里斯河流域(即美索不達(dá)米亞平原),并且創(chuàng)造了歐貝德文化。到公元前3500年至前3100年的烏魯克文化時期,各地開始出現(xiàn)若干小型城市,城中有較大規(guī)模的神廟,并有文字和印章,這是初期文明的表現(xiàn)。有的學(xué)者認(rèn)為,在隨后的杰姆代特奈斯?fàn)栁幕瘯r期(前3100~前2900)已經(jīng)形成城邦國家。公元前2900年以后為蘇美爾早王朝時期,也就是奴隸制城邦的繁榮時代。公元前2371年,蘇美爾早王朝為阿卡德人所建立的阿卡德王國所取代。此后則有古巴比倫、亞述和新巴比倫等王國相繼在這塊土地上誕生。大約與此同時,非洲東北部的尼羅河流域形成了人類生活的另一個聚集地。人們在這里先后創(chuàng)造了拜達(dá)里文化、阿姆拉文化和格爾塞文化,而格爾塞文化(約前3500~前3100)則是當(dāng)?shù)剡M(jìn)入文明時代的標(biāo)志,因為這時業(yè)已產(chǎn)生貴族與平民、奴隸主與奴隸的階級區(qū)分,有些地方已經(jīng)發(fā)展成為城市公社性質(zhì)的小型城邦。其后,傳說美尼斯于公元前3100年左右統(tǒng)一上埃及和下埃及,成為有史以來的第一位埃及國王,埃及從此進(jìn)入早王朝時代(約前3100~前2686);而到了古王國時代(約前2686~前2181),埃及則實現(xiàn)了真正的統(tǒng)一,建立了奴隸制國家,確立了君主獨裁的專制制度。
