《翻譯的藝術(shù)》全書分總論、通論、專論和附錄四個(gè)部分，主要收錄了1978至1983年間作者在全國外語學(xué)刊上發(fā)表的20篇論文。在此基礎(chǔ)上，通論部分和專論部分各增補(bǔ)了五篇文章。該書以大量的比較翻譯的實(shí)例闡明了作者關(guān)于文學(xué)翻譯理論的基本觀點(diǎn)，是作者多年來從未間斷的翻譯實(shí)踐的心得體會(huì)和理論提煉。Xu Yuanchong is a famous translator not only in China but abroad, as well as a professor in Peking University. He has been awarded varied prizes for what he has achieved in translation. He spent almost all his life in doing the translation from Chinese to the foreign languages, especially English and French, or English/French to Chinese. The Theory on Translation is on what he summarized his own translation practices.
